Principal Links Consulting

Rick Morgan is the Principal of Links Consulting, a management and safety consulting practice
he founded in 2019. He likes to say he’s managed to survive more than 40 years in the
transportation and supply chain industry without a heart attack—and that isn’t his only enviable
record. Over that time, he has delivered large-scale logistics and safety solutions to
organizations including Toyota, General Dynamics, and other fortune 500 companies. His work
spans operations, customs, HR, and risk management, delivering improvements in logistics
modelling, distribution, compliance, and overall operational performance that have produced
measurable financial gains.

His industry-recognized leadership includes developing and managing a Platinum Plus
Transportation Safety and Risk Management Program, recognized by Northbridge Insurance for
multiple consecutive years. He has worked with both asset and non-asset logistics providers,
giving him a comprehensive understanding of how operational, safety, and compliance systems
align across different business models.

Rick holds the Certified Director of Safety (NATMI) and Certified Logistics Professional (CITT)
designations. He has served on the Canadian Trucking Alliance’s Compliance and Freight
Policy Council, the Cross-Border Council, and the IHSA Fleet Safety Council. He was an active
stakeholder in national initiatives including the Regulation 199/07 pilot, the CBSA and CBP
Trusted Trader and e-Manifest programs, and the WSIB rate framework redesign. His input to
federal labour policy helped modernize Employment and Social Development Canada’s process
for determining prevailing industry practice in assessing overtime standards within the trucking
sector.

Rick continues to advocate for fair employment practices and responsible carrier operations,
advancing performance through data-driven safety systems and accountable, results-oriented
management.
