Dan is the Cargo and Heavy Equipment Theft Program Coordinator and Investigator within the Investigative Services portfolio at Équité Association.

After 32 years of service, Dan retired from York Regional Police in March of 2022. He has an extensive investigative background, gaining experience and knowledge with tenures in the Cargo Theft Unit, Hold Up Unit, Guns and Gangs Unit as well as the RCMP – Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit.

In March 2023, Dan took on an investigative role with Équité Association. He strives to create awareness and recognition of the cargo theft issues in Canada and its impact on the supply chain as well as consumers. He collaborates with insurance companies, law enforcement, the transportation industry as well as the retail sector to mitigate cargo theft through analysis and theft prevention techniques.

Utilizing Équité’s Association’s Cargo and Heavy Equipment Theft and Recovery Program, Dan assists law enforcement in identifying and recovering stolen cargo and heavy equipment in order to return the product to its rightful owner and reduce the financial impact on the supply chain and consumers.
